Virat Kohli capped off another memorable IPL season in style, helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru secure their second consecutive IPL title with a match-winning performance in the 2026 final against Gujarat Titans. While the victory itself was historic, it was Kohli’s post-match remark that quickly grabbed attention and sparked discussion among fans on social media.

RCB’s triumph made them only the third franchise in IPL history to win back-to-back championships, joining the elite ranks of Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, the Bengaluru franchise also strengthened its position among the league’s most successful teams, moving to fourth place on the all-time title list behind the Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders.

During a light-hearted conversation with comedian Danish Sait, popularly known as Mr Nags, Kohli delivered a comment that many interpreted as a cheeky dig at the Gujarat Titans.

“Trophy aava de and home jaava de, thank you very much,” Virat Kohli said in a video shared by RCB after the final. The phrase immediately caught attention because “Aava De” is the well-known slogan associated with the Gujarat Titans, making the comment all the more intriguing in the aftermath of the title clash.

The focus now shifts to Kohli’s immediate plans. It remains unclear whether the former India captain will return to London, where he spends much of his time with his family, or remain in India ahead of the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan, which is scheduled to begin in less than two weeks.

As for RCB, their IPL 2026 triumph once again highlighted the success of their squad-building strategy. The franchise entered the season determined not just to defend its title but to establish a winning culture capable of sustained success. They achieved exactly that by dominating the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, despite the hosts enjoying home conditions.
