Ahead of the four-match Test series at home against Australia scheduled to be commencing on February 9, former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli along with his better half Anushka Sharma paid a visit to Rishikesh for seeking blessings. Kohli has been rested for the ongoing three-match T20I series against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Kohli and his family visited the Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj’s samadhi at Swami Dayanand Ashram in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. During their visit to the spiritual hermitage, Virat Kohli was dressed in holy attire and videos of him giving autographs to fans went viral on social media in no time.

However, while signing autographs, the batting megastar politely requested the fans not to record any videos by saying, “Ashram Hai Yeh” (This is a spiritual hermitage). Notably, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma also went on to organize a “bhandara” for the saints in Rishikesh.

Here is the video of the incident:

Virat Kohli will be hoping to perform with his bat in the upcoming four-match Test series as his performance on the 22 yards has not been up to the mark in red-ball cricket in the last couple of years. He has not notched up a Test ton since November 2019 and would be hoping to end the century drought this time around.

Should the batting icon score a century in this series, then it will be his 28th in Tests and 75th in international cricket. In the last two months, Virat has registered three ODI centuries and had scored his maiden T20I ton during the Asia Cup fixture back in September last year.

Now, he would be gearing up to face the lethal Australian bowling attack to rediscover his rhythm in Test cricket and playing a crucial role in helping India retain the iconic Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India registered successive Test series triumphs down under in 2018-19 and 2020-21 seasons while the Aussies are yet to win a Test series on Indian soil since 2004-05. They have not lifted the Border-Gavaskar Trophy since the 2014-15 home series.
