Virat Kohli was back in his fiery best on Friday, May 23, during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Lucknow. The RCB stalwart caught everyone’s attention with a fierce send-off to young SRH opener Abhishek Sharma, who had been tormenting the bowlers in the early stages of the innings.

It all unfolded in the 65th match of IPL 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. Kohli, known for wearing his emotions on his sleeve, let them flow as soon as Sharma’s breezy innings came to an end. His wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, was spotted in the stands reacting with glee, clapping with a wide smile as her husband’s intensity lit up the evening.

Abhishek Sharma was in dazzling form after SRH were put into bat. The left-hander launched a brutal assault on the RCB bowlers, racing to 34 off just 17 deliveries, laced with 3 fours and 3 towering sixes. It took a sharp piece of bowling and athletic fielding to end his stay.
Lungi Ngidi, delivering the final ball of the fourth over, bowled a full-length delivery on middle and leg. Sharma went for a flick, but only managed to find Phil Salt at deep backwards square leg, who sprinted in to complete a fine catch.
