Virat Kohli once again proved why he’s the heartbeat of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, playing a composed yet commanding knock of 73* off 54 balls to steer his side to a seven-wicket win over Punjab Kings in Match 37 of IPL 2025. His innings, laced with seven crisp boundaries and a six, helped RCB chase down 158 with ease in 18.5 overs, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

But it wasn’t just Kohli’s bat doing the talking — his mouth was just as animated. The RCB stalwart was seen exchanging light-hearted banter with PBKS spinner Harpreet Brar during the game.

In a moment that quickly went viral, Kohli playfully ribbed Brar in fluent Punjabi, teasing, “It’s been 20 years, I even know your coach. Your hand has got so weak!” The interaction, captured and shared by Star Sports, was a classic Kohli moment — intense on the field, yet always in the mood for some cheeky fun.

Despite being named Player of the Match, Kohli humbly credited Devdutt Padikkal for laying the foundation. Padikkal, who blasted a fiery 61 off just 35 balls with five fours and four sixes, stitched a crucial 103-run stand with Kohli that completely swung the momentum in RCB’s favour.

This was Kohli’s fourth fifty of the season — and notably, every time he’s crossed the 50-run mark, RCB has emerged victorious. The former RCB skipper has now climbed to fourth in the Orange Cap race with 322 runs from eight innings at an impressive average of 64.40 and a strike rate of 140.
RCB, now sitting third on the points table with 10 points, will be eyeing their first home win of the season when they face Rajasthan Royals at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 24.
