Royal Challengers Bangalore has started their Indian Premier League 2021 campaign with a 2 wickets win over Mumbai Super Kings in Chennai. Their win came on the back of Harshal Patel and AB de Villiers. While a fifer from Patel restricted Mumbai within a chasable total, it was de Villiers who fought his hearts out and helped the team to win as well. And, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag took a unique way to praise the former South Africa captain.
The Indian batting legend funnily said that the AB de Villiers’ power defeats every other power and also said that the IPL logo is designed after him only. He also praised Harshal Patel for his stunning bowling show in the match against the Mumbai Indians as he became the first bowler to take a fifer against the defending champion.
Here is the tweet of Virender Sehwag:
Will power = De villiers Power.
Defeats all power. No wonder the @IPL logo is secretly designed after @ABdeVilliers17 . Champion knock. But Patel Bhai ke raaz mein , RCB bowling mazaa aaya. Top spell 5/27. Is saal cup aande , no vaandey. #RCBvsMI pic.twitter.com/NcPBRzaRrd

Put in to bat first, Mumbai Indians didn’t have a great start in Chennai and Harshal Patel dismantled their line up with five wickets while giving away just 27 runs from his quota of four overs. His spell helped RCB restrict Mumbai Indians to 159/9 in 20 overs. While chasing 160 runs for the win, RCB batsman AB de Villiers’ quick-fire 48 helped them to register a nail-biting win on the final ball of the match.

Virat Kohli was also applauded his key middle-order batsman AB de Villiers and said that what the former South Africa captain can do on slow pitches, there is hardly anyone available in the circuit who can do that.
“AB is probably the only one in the team who is so versatile. And what he does on slow wickets, not many can do. In a tricky chase you need experience at the back, and the opposition knows that if he doesn’t get out, the bowlers get in a different headspace,” Kohli concluded.
