RCB retained their skipper Virat Kohli along with star batsman AB de Villiers and youngster Sarfaraz Khan, who has not represented his national side yet. Meanwhile, they were not keen to keep T20 cricket’s biggest player Chris Gayle, who has been on and off in last season, which hurt the team to taste success.

Talking about Gayle, Viru mentioned that he is not remained the same what he used to be. However, his team may retain him in the upcoming season.

“Gayle is now getting old. He is not the same Gayle that he once was. Last year, he played in the IPL and his performance wasn’t at that level that he was once renowned for. Teams take into account this factor when they enter the auction. Maybe RCB might go after Gayle again at the auction,” said Sehwag.

Bengaluru based franchise hasn’t get their hands onto the silverware of the most famous T20 league around the world. RCB has reached to the finals thrice in IPL, but they are yet to lift the cup despite having several match-winners in their team.
