West Indies legendary batsman Viv Richards opens up his views on who could be the Cup lifter of the 2019 World Cup which begins at the end of May month in England & Wales.

They have talent. I find that the bowling unit in Pakistan is very good. If the batsmen can perform to the best of their abilities then I believe Pakistan has the chance,” Richards said in an interview.
He recalled the Champions Trophy moment and noted that before they won the ICC trophy in 2017, the Pakistani team was inconsistent as well, but came together as a unit to lift the trophy, defeating rivals India in the finals.

Talking about the other teams who are as well competitive to chase the title Richards first only mentioned India that they have been performing very consistently since 2017 champions Trophy both at home and overseas.
He also felt that his home team West Indies can also be another contender as their performance have been showing promise in the 50-over format. The Windies came back to their strength with levelling the series against England by 2-2 and their talismanic Chris Gayle also showed his thunderstorm form by going after the England bowlers and smashed them 39 sixes in the 5 matches.
Richards says New Zealand can be the dark horses to win the tournament “Australia are a unit and must be respected. New Zealand could be a dark horse. There are a lot of teams, about four or five who have the capability to win,” and Afghanistan who has the favour of Rashid Khan in their team will be the team to challenge other teams.
