Vrinda Dinesh’s journey in top-flight cricket began with the India Under-23 squad in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup in Hong Kong. Despite not initially making the cut, her outstanding performances in warm-up matches led to a well-deserved call-up due to an injury to fast bowler S Yashasri.

In the final, Vrinda showcased her talent with a notable 29-ball 36, contributing significantly to India Emerging’s triumph as they defended a total of 127 for 7 against Bangladesh. Interestingly, Vrinda’s opportunity in the game arose due to a delay in Muskan Malik’s kit arrival, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of cricket.

With Meg Lanning as her cricketing idol, Vrinda actively participated in trials conducted by all five WPL franchises during the off-season, ultimately landing a record bid from UP Warriorz.

Earlier in the year, Vrinda played a pivotal role in Karnataka’s journey to the final of the Senior Women’s one-day competition. Her impressive performance, finishing as the third-highest run-scorer with 477 runs in 11 innings at an average of 47.70, showcased her batting prowess.

Notably, her impactful innings of 81 against Rajasthan in the semi-final contributed significantly to Karnataka’s success.
