Team India is the undefeated squad in the ongoing Asia Cup and it looks like they will be unbeatable until the final as well. There are meager chances that Afghanistan will beat India in their last Super Four game. In the absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma has been leading the men in blue and he has won the heart of the former Pakistan great Wasim Akram who has praised him a lot for his leadership skills.

Rohit went through a stern captaincy test against Hong Kong and after coming out on top in that game, he has been proactive in the series so far. Moreover, his form with the bat has also been exceptional while opening the innings for the team. Recently, he scored a century against Pakistan in the Super Four game and won the game for India while chasing the total of 238 runs and out of the four innings, he has been dismissed only twice.

During a show on India Today, Akram was delighted to see Sharma grow as the captain and also praised the way Shikhar Dhawan is batting. He felt that both of them are making batting look so easy at the top of the order which hasn’t allowed the middle-order to come under pressure even a bit.

Wasim explained, “I think Rohit Sharma has done a great job as India skipper. He is leading from the front, he’s getting runs consistently and with ease. With him, Shikhar Dhawan is playing equally good. They are making things look so comfortable when they come out to bat. They look so calm and I think they have got every shot in their book.”

Meanwhile, the former left-arm pacer was extremely critical about Pakistan’s performance against India in the last two matches so far and also went on to add that their victory over India in the Champions Trophy looks like a fluke now.
