Wasim Jaffer Expecting Virat Kohli To Come Hard In The Indore ODI

Former Indian opener, Wasim Jaffer has said that he expects Virat Kohli to make a strong comeback in the third ODI against New Zealand. India is having an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series, with the final ODI to be played on January 24 in Indore. Speaking with ESPNcricinfo, Wasim Jaffer said Kohli must be disappointed by his dismissals in the series, adding that the former Indian skipper, has been struggling against leg spinners.

As per the quotes in India Today, Wasim Jaffer said, “Virat Kohli must be disappointed by his dismissals in this series. He has been struggling to play leg-spin for quite a while now whether it be Adil Rashid or Adam Zampa, and now he has gone out to left-arm spin of Mitchell Santner two matches in a row.”

The 44-year-old said he expects Kohli to have a good comeback in the final ODI of the series in Indore, insisting that there are expectations for him to do well against Australia.

Wasim Jaffer explained, “I expect Kohli to make a good comeback in the third ODI keeping the big picture in mind. Australia are touring soon and they have a solid bowling unit with Nathan Lyon also there. So, the expectation is always there from him to score runs and do well.”

Wasim Jaffer showered praises on Mohammed Shami for his brilliant spell in Raipur, adding that he was very well complimented by Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya.

Explaining the same, Wasim Jaffer said, “I thought he bowled really well, complimented by Siraj and even Hardik Pandya. So I thought India bowled really well. Even though it seemed like Rohit Sharma was in two minds about bowling first, and took a lot of time, even Tom Latham said that he would have bowled first.”

India will be locking horns with the Kiwis in the third and final ODI of the series at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
