Former India player Wasim Jaffer has redefined DRS as well as took a dig at the Indian team after they have wasted a couple of reviews at Lord’s against England. During the second day of the second Test of the ongoing five-match Test series against England, India captain Virat Kohli failed to take two reviews.

That happened after Kohli challenged umpire Michael Gough’s decision in consecutive overs, whereas wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant, wasn’t appreciated by experts and commentators as well for this. It started with the last delivery of the 21st over when India speedster Mohammed Siraj beat England captain Joe Root with an incoming delivery that hit the batsman on his pads.

After Gough gave the decision in the batsman’s favour, Siraj forced Kohli to challenge the decision. Meanwhile, on the fourth delivery of his next over, he once again beat Root in the same way. While Siraj wasn’t seen too excited about the review, it was Virat Kohli who did it with just a second remaining.

Considering how Rishabh Pant was asking to not opt for a review, it wasn’t a surprise for everyone when replays confirmed that the ball would have missed the stumps as well. And, after that, Virat Kohli returned to his fielding position in the slips after wasting two reviews.

Meanwhile, Team India have managed to post 364 runs in the first innings, having finished Day 1 on 276/3. KL Rahul scored a brilliant 129 alongside Ravindra Jadeja’s 40 as well. And, former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has praised India opener, Rohit Sharma, for his batting on Day 1 of the Lord’s Test against England. Sharma scored 83 and helped to provide a good start as well.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: “India had already signalled their intention with their performance in the first Test. Fast bowlers get a lot of help in England for the first two hours due to the moisture. They (England) hoped for 3-4 early wickets to put India under pressure.”
