Hitting sixes is not an easy art to master but, indeed, is the most important one in modern cricket with so much T20 cricket being played around the world. Hitting a six must be a moment of satisfaction for any batsman for executing a perfect shot. However, such was not the case in a domestic game, where the batsman smashed his own car’s windscreen when he smashed a massive six.

Batsman kneeled down when he broke his car’s windscreen

The incident occurred in England domestic cricket. In Halifax Cricket League Crossley Shield quarter-final on Sunday, St Mary’s Cricket Club was playing against Sowerby’ St Peter’s. St Mary’s Asif Ali smashed a huge six against the bowler and looked happy with his shot.

But his happiness was short-lived as he broke his own car’s windscreen with that six and straightaway went on his haunches.

St Mary’s Cricket Club posted the video on their Twitter account, where the caption reads, “That moment when you hit a massive six, only for it to crash through your own car windscreen. Sound on to hear the smash.”

The shot was perfectly timed to clear the fence. If not for the batter’s personal loss, it was a great sight for all the cricket fans. Kids these days would want to replicate and play such clinical shots that clear the fence. Though our condolences are with the batsman for his financial loss, the highlight of the video was also the classy pull-shot that has lost its charm over the years.

This is one of the rarest incidents on the cricketing field. Several players have broken a car’s glass in the past as well but this has to be a rare incident when the batsman targeted his own car, though not by choice.
