The English all-rounder Ben Stokes accidentally punched his team-mate, leg-spinner Adil Rashid, while celebrating a wicket during the fourth Test of the five-match series against India at The Rose Bowl cricket in Southampton on Sunday. The incident took place in the 61st over of India’s second innings when Moeen Ali got the wicket of India’s deputy skipper Ajinkya Rahane for 51 runs. Running in to celebrate the crucial dismissal of Rahane, Ben Stokes along with his team-mates went on to hug Moeen but Stokes outstretched hand accidentally punched Adil Rashid, who was standing behind Moeen, on his nose.

Moeen Ali was the star of the day for England as he took four wickets in India’s second innings to secure a 60-run win for his team. India got off to the worse possible start as they three quick wickets in their chase. Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his deputyAjinkya Rahane tried to stage a comeback as they posted a century partnership for the fourth wicket, but Moeen got the better of both Virat and Rahane to seal the series.
After the defeat, the Indian skipper conceded that his team failed to capitalize when they were on top and praised England for being the better sides when the pressure was on. He said, “It’s very difficult to recognize key moments in the first innings of a Test. But they turn out to be very big moments, eventually in the course of the game. I myself felt had I batted for longer that day, the lead could have been bigger. Even after that, we thought we could get a couple of more partnerships and extend the lead. Eventually, Pujara had to play a blinder to get us (the lead). Apart from that as captain, I don’t see many areas we need to think of as negatives because we tried our best.”
