New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor bashed the second last ball of the first innings of the T20I match against Australia into the stands today as they made a huge total of 243 for 6. The pull shot eluded the Aussie fielders but it didn’t stop him being caught – by a fan.

The fan leaned over the advertising boards, drooped down his left arm and took the catch it as clean as a whistle before being mobbed by friends.

The grab earned him a cash reward with ₹2.3 Million on offer for any fan to take a one-handed catch.

A KIWI student has killed two birds with one stone while in attendance of the New Zealand, Australia Twenty20 International in Auckland.

Not only did the youngster tick one off the bucket list with a phenomenal crowd catch, but the effort earned him a whopping ₹2.3 Million as part of a promotion at the venue.

It later emerged the catcher was 20-year-old student Mitchell Grimstone, who was presented the cheque by TUI Brewery Limited, who put up the reward.

He smiled: “It’s pretty surreal It all happened real fast and all the boys were all over me. “I just stuck the hand out and in stuck.”
