The first T20 match wasn’t easily won by anyone, in fact, it was a tied match with both the team’s score was 134 at the end of the 2nd innings and decision of match was passed on to the Super Over where South Africa scored 14 runs of Lasith Malinga’s over and defended with the dominating bowling by Imran Tahir who just gave 4 runs in the super over.
It was a nail-biting final over by Isuru Udana as he had to defend 5 runs to win the match and with JP Duminy still on the crease was really a tough task to do but however, they got rid of Duminy on the second last ball and Africa needed 2 runs off the final ball and Imran Tahir came to bat.

Udana bowled a slower off cutter to Tahir which got the response of the lower edge to the keeper and a run was being taken which Dickwella decided to throw from his shoulder strength and missed the leg stump completely where was near to the stumps.

Niroshan Dickwella missed the chance to win a thriller for Lanka but the Twitter users did not miss the opportunity to troll Dickwella for his stupid move. The run-out would have set the Lankans in the 1-0 lead position.

The incident can also be compared to the World Cup match between India and Bangladesh which was also the worst scene than yesterday’s situation. India had to defend 2 runs from 3 balls with Hardik Pandya getting 2 wickets back to back of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah.

And in the last ball, Bangladesh needed 2 to win and the last ball was missed by the batsman and went straight to Dhoni who quickly rushed to the stumps with the ball and clearly got the wicket without taking the unnecessary risk of throwing the ball. India won the game by 1 run.
