Yusuf Pathan has kicked off Ranji Trophy on a high note as he registered hundreds in both innings of the match against Madhya Pradesh in this season’s opener. In the first innings, he scored 111, while in the second essay his scorecard reads 136.
In the first innings, Yusuf shared a crucial 180-run stand with his younger brother Irfan Pathan, who made sparkling 80 runs and was at the non-striker’ end when Yusuf notched up a ton in first innings. Irfan shared a video of his celebration when his brother brings his hundred. He wrote this post on his Instagram “That’s how the big man @iamyusufpathan got to his 100 #pureemotion #sheerjoy #love.”
In this video, Yusuf launched bowler over long-off for a six, which also took him to his hundredth run. As soon as Irfan saw this, he dropped his bat and went to his brother to congratulate him with a warm hug.

Despite elder Pathan’s heroics, Baroda faced a defeat by 8 wickets. MP scored 551/8 (dec) in their first innings before reducing Baroda for 302 in their first outing and Madhya Pradesh then enforced the follow-on. Baroda didn’t outclass MP in the second innings as well. The target of 70 runs was not a big deal for them.
