On Saturday, India U-19 team clinched the ICC U-19 World Cup 2018 in New Zealand and they finally returned back to the country with a grand reception at the Mumbai Airport on Monday.
India became the most successful team in the history of U-19 World Cup when they won the title for the fourth time. Prithvi Shaw and his men defeated Australia by eight wickets in the final to get their hands on the coveted trophy.

The win makes India the only team to win the tournament more than three times. The Australian team was the other team with three titles but now India has stepped ahead of them. Shaw became only the fourth skipper from India to lift the title. The other three were Mohammad Kaif, Virat Kohli, and Unmukt Chand.

Manjot Kalra played a scintillating knock as he scored his century and took his side to victory in the finals after coming out to open the innings with the skipper. After electing to bat first, the Australian team was bowled out for a meager total of 216. Jonathan Merlo remained the only batsman who could score a half-century while Param Uppal scored 34 runs.
In reply, the men in blue managed to chase down the target easily with Kalra becoming the second player to score a century in U-19 World Cup final, only after India’s own Unmukt Chand. He has also become the fifth player in the history of U-19 World Cup to achieve that feat.
