Ravindra Jadeja had a day to remember for Chennai Super Kings in the 19th game of the Indian Premier League 2021 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The all-rounder was too hot to handle for the Virat Kohli-led side, who lost the match by 69 runs to get their first defeat of the season. Jadeja’s match-defining fifty gave CSK’s total a big boost before returning with the ball to get three important wickets.
Apart from it, Jadeja was in action with his fielding as well. He scored a direct hit to dismiss Daniel Christian for 1.

The southpaw is known as a live wire in the field and has a reputation for directly targeting the stumps from any range. The same was on display against Royal Challengers Bangalore as well. Christian came out to bat in the ninth over when Jadeja castled Glenn Maxwell. The Australian all-rounder reacted for a quick single on AB de Villiers’ call. They ignored the fact that Jadeja is a dangerous man to take the risk, which proved right as he found Christian short of his crease with a direct hit.

Earlier, Jadeja got a reprieve when batting on 0. It was Christian who dropped an easy catch of Jadeja but the star all-rounder wasn’t in the mood of giving a return gift and cut short Christian’s stay at the crease.
Riding on his luck, Jadeja went on to score a flamboyant half-century, where he smashed 37 runs in the final over of Harshal Patel. Jadeja’s 62-run knock off 28 balls took CSK total to 191/4 in 20 overs.

Later on, he came back to the bowl and grabbed three wickets as well. First, he removed Washington Sundar before claiming the big wickets of Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers. CSK enjoyed this performance from their star all-rounder as they thrashed RCB to go top of the points table.
