England and Sri Lanka locked horns in limited-overs series that was seen as a mismatch. And it turns out to be the one. Sri Lanka had no answers against the World Champion England side. After being whitewashed in the T20I series, Sri Lanka couldn’t pose any challenge in the One-Day International series as well, which they lost by 2-0 with the third game being washed out due to rain.

Tom Curran was the pick of the bowlers with a four-fer. Chris Woakes also breathed fire yet another time and registered the figures of 10-3-28-2 in the third game.

However, the match couldn’t complete because of persistent rain at Bristol’s County Ground.

Meanwhile, Jonny Bairstow took a sensational catch during the third ODI.

It all happened in the 30th over of the first innings when Karunaratne edged a Tom Curran delivery behind the stumps. With the ball travelling between Bairstow and Joe Root – fielding at first slip – it was the wicket-keeper who put a full-length dive to complete the catch.
