Virat Kohli punished Proteas bowlers with his bat during the third One-Day International between India and South Africa. Kohli scored an unbeaten 160 after coming into bat in the second over of India’s innings.

Meanwhile, we saw a battle of fire against fire as Kagiso Rabada target Kohli with some short balls. He successfully trapped Kohli in front of wickets until DRS came in rescue for Indian skipper. However, Rabada didn’t lose hopes and threw some thunderbolts in Kohli’s direction.

At the end of the innings, Kohli won that battle by hitting him for a six and four on consecutive deliveries to boost India’s total from 293 to 303. On the second last ball, Rabada pulled his length back but Kohli smacked him for a maximum. In the follow up delivery, Rabada reduced his length to full but Kohli drilled that ball to an off-drive.

Kohli was very smart throughout this innings and kept one end tight while rest of the Indian batsmen found it hard to get going. At the slog overs, the 29-year-old didn’t go for any fancy shot and kept rotating the strike.

He finally unleashed himself in the last two overs and looted 27 runs. India finished the innings for 303/6 and left South Africa with a record target to chase down.
