India’s pacer Mohammed Shami was bowling fire during the fifth day of the World Test Championship Final against New Zealand in Southampton. He gave India their first breakthrough and led a potential comeback by India. He removed Ross Tylor and BJ Watling in the first session to give India a sniff on day five.
Meanwhile, an interesting incident occurred in the over after Shami removed Watling. Shami was fielding on the boundary ropes and was seen wrapping a towel around his waist.

It rained the whole day last day in Southampton on day four and the day didn’t see any action. The rain delayed the start of the fifth day as well and the weather was quite cold at Ageas Bowl. However, Shami was on fire with his bowling but was finding it hard to cope with the cold winds of Southampton.
During the last over before the lunch break, he wrapped a big white towel around his waist and left fans in splits with his antiques.

On the match’s front, Shami led India’s comeback with a brilliant display of bowling. He was introduced by Kohli in the first session and looked threatening from his first ball. He removed Ross Tylor before lunch. Later on, he dismissed Watling with a beautiful ball that came in after pitching.

Kohli showed great faith in his as he handed Shami the new ball as well and he didn’t disappoint his skipper. He trapped Colin de Grandhomme straightaway before finding Kyle Jamieson’s wicket as well. Shami ended the innings with figures of 4/79 as New Zealand bundled out for 249 with a handy 32-run lead. Ishant Sharma managed three wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed two batsmen.
