Watch: Pakistan Win Last-ball-thriller T20I Against Bangladesh

Pakistan and Bangladesh played a thrilling match during the third T20I in Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Stadium. Pakistan won the nail-biting game on the last ball and clinched the three-match series by 3-0.

Pakistan are in excellent form coming into this series as they reached to the semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE. They played a similar brand of cricket in Bangladesh as well by winning the first two games quite easily.

During the third T20I, Pakistan were cruising at one moment with eights runs needed in the last six balls while having eight wickets in hand. Haider Ali was well set and was batting in the middle at 45.

Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah came to bowl the final over. He managed to bowl a dot on the first ball of the over before dismissing Sarfaraz Ahmed and Haider Ali on the next two balls. Iftikhar Ahmed walked out to face the hat-trick ball and responded with a six to almost kill the game.

Mahmudullah kept his calm and dismissed Iftikhar on the next ball, leaving Pakistan to score two runs on the last ball. Mohammad Nawaz, batting at 7, walked out to face the last ball and smashed a boundary to win a thrilling contest in Dhaka.

Pakistan won the game by five wickets on the last ball.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. Mohammad Naim and Najmul Hossain Shanto walked out to open the innings but the latter got out in the second over. Mohammad Naim kept on going and stitched some important partnerships during his stay at the crease. Naim got out after scoring 47 runs in 50 balls, where he hit two fours and two sixes.

None of the Bangladesh batters was able to bat aggressively and they ended up with a below-par total of 124/7 in 20 overs. Pakistan won the final T20I as well after a few hiccups in a dramatic final over.
