Currently, the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are battling it out to stand a chance to reach the final of the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). After winning the toss, the DC skipper, Shreyas Iyer decided to bowl first citing the sticky condition of the pitch and soon he got reward As Ishant Sharma dismissed Wriddhiman Saha in the 4th over itself.

During the toss, the SRH skipper, Kane Williamson told that they have made just one change in their squad as Deepak Hooda came back in to replace Yusuf Pathan. On the other hand, DC also made just one change in their squad as Colin Munro replace Colin Ingram.

SRH started off well as they amassed as many as 54 runs in the powerplay itself out of which 35 were scored by Martin Guptill itself. However, he was dismissed by Amit Mishra soon after the powerplay was finished. After dismissal, Manish Pandey and Williamson started to build a partnership, but they only managed to add 36 runs for the 3rd wicket as Pandey was dismissed by Keemo Paul in the 14th over. Even Williamson was also cleaned up by Ishant Sharma in the 16th over.

Vijay Shankar and Mohammad Nabi were utilizing the final overs of the match quite well as they scored 36 runs in just 15 balls but Shankar got out in the penultimate over of Trent Boult, before which he had smashed the bowler for a six and a four. However, the real drama took place in the final over of Paul after the dismissal of Nabi.

On the 4th ball of the over, Paul delivered a slower ball and Deepak Hooda missed the ball and tried to go for a single. At the non-striker’s end, the batsman collided with the bowler. They are conferring about whether Iyer wants to withdraw the appeal, but, eventually, Delhi wants the appeal to stand. Paul was looking to go for the ball, and in the meantime, his leg stuck out a bit as Hooda was getting to the non-striker’s end. It was also called a wide as well by the umpire.
