The Indian power couple, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma took to Twitter to urge their fans to stay at home during the nationwide 21-day lockdown, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening. Earlier, the Indian skipper made a humble appeal to the fellow Indian citizens to follow the fresh guidelines issued by the Prime Minister to control the outbreak of the coronavirus.
In a 51-second video, Kohli was heard saying, “These are testing times and we need to wake up to the seriousness of this situation. Please let us all follow what’s been told to us and stand united, please. It’s a plea to everyone.”

Addressing the nation, PM Modi announced that India will be under complete lockdown for the next 21 days, starting Tuesday midnight.
Applauding the move, Kohli requested the fellow countrymen to “stay at home” for the next 21 days as “social distancing is the only cure” available with us which can stop Covid-19 from spreading.

Tweeting about the same, Virat wrote: “As our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri @NarendraModi ji just announced, the whole country is going into a lockdown starting midnight today for the next 21 days. My request will remain the same, PLEASE STAY AT HOME. #SocialDistancing is the only cure for Covid 19”.

The 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been postponed until April 15 due to the deadly virus.
Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus positive patients in India went past 560 with around 10 people losing their lives on Tuesday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The entire world is slowly moving towards a lockdown due to the scare of the ever-escalating situation concerning the World Health Organisation-recognized pandemic that is the Coronavirus. Everything- schools, colleges, airports, railway stations, gyms, sporting events, movies, offices- have been put under lockdown as the world continues to self-isolate in order to control the pandemic.
