WATCH – Watson And Rabada Shooks Hands After The Match Despite Engaging In A Banter

After a thumping win over the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, the Delhi Capitals (DC) failed to carry forward the winning momentum. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, DC faced a defeated against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi. During the game, CSK opener, Shane Watson got involved in a heated banter with the Delhi Kagiso Rabada.

When the Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, was chasing down 148, Rabada was seen saying something to Watson that mocked the batsman by all the means. However, as soon as the match got ended the banter finished then and there as both the players share a smile during a friendly conversation. The duo also got a picture clicked together.

Ricky Ponting, the assistant coach of the Delhi base franchise ahead of this season, was also present with Rabada and Watson. The video of the same was posted by the official Twitter handle of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and termed it as a ‘Spirit of Cricket’ moment.

The twitter handle captioned the video and wrote, “At the end of the day, all’s well that ends well #SpiritOfCricket #VIVOIPL #DCvCSK,”

A couple of days ago, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) locked horns with each other in Jaipur. In that game, KXIP skipper, Ravi Ashwin ‘mankaded’ RR opener Jos Buttler which resulted in a huge controversy. At that point in time, Buttler was batting on 69 and if he had played few more over the game would’ve been done and dusted for the vistors. Subsequently, Ashwin was severely bashed for his actions.

A number of people, from fans to cricketing pundits lashed out the off-spinner for resorting to the undesired method. Many also questioned him for not following the Spirit of Cricket that showcases a cricketer’s sportsman spirit. However, Ashwin has also got support from the likes of Mitchell Johnson and Rahul Dravid.
