Former India captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, entered the M. Chidambaram Stadium amidst loud cheer from his fans. Dhoni has played for Chennai Super Kings for eight years in the Indian Premier League. He might be from Ranchi, but, Chennai has become his second home.
He has an ardent fan base in Chennai. When he walked out to bat at 4-64 in the 17th over, the loud cheer which he received was an exemplary to it. Chennai Super Kings were suspended from the IPL for two years. Moreover, Chennai is hosting an ODI after almost two years. As a result of both the above meantioned facts, the excitement of the fans had increased to a new level.
