In 2015 a justice panel chaired by former CJI, RC Lahoti had directed the BCCI to pay RS. 500 crore to the franchise which they would be charged an 18 percent penalty on an annual basis. As the decision from the court came in favour of Kochi Tuskers Kerala, from this decision court told BCCI to pay Rs. 1000 crores as a compensation due to this franchise owners approached the administrators that instead of paying the amount they wanted to return back into the upcoming edition.

But the BCCI official said that “There is no chance of giving them their place in IPL as they want them because they want to sell it?” So the only way for them to accept the one-time settlement. As in upcoming edition of IPL, CSK & RR will replace Rising Pune Supergiant and Gujrat Lions. But it will be interesting that will Kochi Tuskers Kerala gets a chance or not.
