Team India’s winning spree of nine consecutive Test series has been ended in South Africa, where they have lost the first two Tests to give away the series with one match is yet to be played. Virat Kohli’s team has missed a trick in their batting order, which cost them the series as bowlers were up to the mark and took 20 wickets in both of the matches.

Ajinkya Rahane had been India’s most successful overseas batsman, who scored a ton everywhere he played Test except South Africa and Bangladesh, where his highest scores are 96 and 98 respectively. To not play this batsman in the playing XI led Kohli to a massive criticism and at the end, his absence proved decisive in the fate of the series.

After losing the first Test by a short margin, India was in good position in the second Test as well but two horrible run-outs took the momentum away from them. First, it was Cheteshwar Pujara and then Hardik Pandya’s arrogance was those two crucial moments.

There is an interesting fact about Ajinkya Rahane’s batting that he has never run his partners out in the Test cricket and he holds the world record under these criteria.
