India’s rising batting sensation, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has spoken highly of the impact Rohit Sharma has had on his growth as a cricketer. The left-handed batter, who has represented India in Tests, ODIs, and 23 T20Is, credited Rohit’s guidance for helping him develop both mentally and technically. Jaiswal, who was not part of India’s squad for the ongoing 2025 Asia Cup, shared his thoughts during an appearance on Mashable India’s YouTube channel, revealing the influence of the Indian captain on his career.

“I really enjoy being with Rohit bhai. He has taught me so much and helped me a lot in developing myself, both mentally and overall. He is truly an amazing human being. When you are around him or talk to him, you learn a lot — in fact, just by watching him, you can learn so much,” Yashasvi Jaiswal said, emphasising the value of Rohit’s mentorship.
Jaiswal’s last outing for India came in the Test series against England at The Oval from July 31 to August 4, where he scored a memorable century in the second innings. He is expected to feature prominently in India’s upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies.

While the BCCI selectors are yet to announce the squad officially, it is widely anticipated that Jaiswal will be included. The batter debuted in Tests against the West Indies in July 2023, making an immediate impact with 171 runs in the first innings of the first Test. Looking ahead, Jaiswal may also share the dressing room with Rohit Sharma in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia.
