Yuvraj And Rohit Finds Hilarious Ways Of Wishing Karthik ‘Happy Birthday’

The veteran Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Dinesh Karthik is celebrating his 35th birthday on Monday and wishes poured in on social media from his Indian teammates. Former Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh led the charge as he took to Twitter to wish Dinesh Karthik on his birthday in a hilarious manner.

Yuvraj in his tweet said, ” I hope you’re not blowing batteries instead of candles on your birthday Mr. Energiser, happy birthday bud @Dinesh Karthik god bless hope you and Dipika are doing well in these tough times.Β 

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli also took to Twitter to wish Karthik on his birthday. In his tweet, Virat wrote,” Many happy returns of the day @DineshKarthik May this year bring you loads of happiness and success”.

Karthik’s Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders’ official Twitter handle also wished on its skipper on his birthday. The tweet read: “D (calm) and K (composed) leader of the pack turns a year younger”.

Karthik has had several achievements for India but it is a blistering cameo in the final moments of the Nidahas Trophy that has really ensured him a spot in the national squad.Β Not surprisingly then that the Indian opener, Rohit Sharma invoked memories of that sterling effort 2 years ago.

Wishing Karthik on his 35th birthday, Rohit thanked DK for the memorable knock in the final of the Nidahas Trophy.

Rohit Sharma was the India captain for the Nidahas Trophy, the tri-series in Sri Lanka included India and Bangladesh and there was little doubt India were the favorites even without a few of their top guns. However, Bangladesh had India in a spot of bother in the final before Dinesh Karthik walked into the middle and his breathtaking strokeplay took India to a famous victory.

Dinesh Karthik batsman made his debut for India back in 2004 against England at Lord’s in an ODI. Since then, Karthik has played 94 ODIs for the country and has scored 1,752 runs with an average of 30.52. In 26 Test matches and has scored 1025 runs with an average of 25.00. In T20Is, Dinesh Karthik has played 32 matches and scored 399 runs with an average of 33.25.
