Yuvraj Singh Expresses Concern About India’s Scenario Amid Corona

The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has affected the world severely. It has brought the world to a standstill with many countries being completely lockdown for safety and to contain the spread of the virus. India has been heavily affected by the deadly virus. The number of daily cases in India has risen than 7000 in the last 24 hours. On Friday, Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took to twitter and expressed his concern over the same.

Yuvraj Singh tweeted,  “India has reported 7000+ new #Covid19 cases in the last 24 hrs. I request everyone to pls stay safe & maintain social distancing. Let’s do whatever we can to support the lesser privileged. No better time than now to show our humanity.”

Originated in China, the virus has affected more than 6,035,097 people and killed more than 366,920 people. Speaking about India, the Covid-19 virus has affected 173,763 cases across India, killing 4,980 people.

With India’s lockdown expected to end on May 31, the people of India await Prime Minister Modi to address the next plan of action on Sunday during his radio show Mann Ki Baat.

Many major sporting events have either been postponed or canceled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic affecting the globe. Cricket has also suffered a similar fate with international and domestic cricket canceled. Speaking on the same, Yuvraj Singh feels cricket should only resume when the world is free from the Covid-19 virus.

Yuvraj also spoke on ‘The Doosra’ podcast on BBC regarding the same issue. He mentioned, “My personal opinion is that first, we need to defend our countries, the world from coronavirus.”

“It needs to be completely eradicated or come down 90-95 percent. If it keeps on increasing the players will be afraid to come out to the path, go to the field, go to the dressing rooms or changing rooms,” he added.
