Yuvraj Singh Request Fans Not To Mention Sixes While Discussing Broad

Former Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh was once Stuart Broad’s nemesis, having smashed him for six consecutive sixes in an over in the 2007 T20 World Cup quarter-final. It is rare that in a conversation where both of them are mentioned but the sixes don’t get discussed.

However, as the English seamer has surpassed the milestone of 500 wickets in Test cricket, Yuvraj took to social media to applaud his efforts and requested his fans to not mention the six sixes from the India-England match from the T20 World Cup 2007.

Captioning the picture of Broad in his Instagram account, Yuvraj wrote: “I’m sure every time I write something about Stuart Broad, people relate to him getting hit for six sixes! But today I request all my fans not to mention it but to applaud what this man has achieved! 500 test wickets is no joke – it takes years of hard work, dedication and determination,” Yuvraj added.

Yuvraj further added, “How you have always fought and come victorious over your setbacks, Broady my friend you are a legend! Hats off”.

On Tuesday, Broad became the seventh bowler in the history of Test cricket to scalp 500 wickets, when he pinned West Indies opener, Kraigg Brathwaite, LBW on the last day of the third and final Test of the series.

Players from around the world took to social media to congratulated the veteran fast bowler for enter the elite 500-club. Broad finished the match with ten wickets as England registered an easy win over the Windies by 269 runs to clinch the series 2-1.

Dropped from the first Test, that England lost in Southampton, Broad came back strong and received the Man of the Series award for scalping as many as 16 wickets and scoring a quickfire 50 in the final Test.
