Yuvraj Singh Takes A Cheeky Dig At Fitness Of Rohit And Pant

Ever since BCCI has announced the squads for the Australia tour, there has been a lot of discussion around Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant. Though Pant has been included for the Tests series, there have been certain fitness concerns regarding Rohit and he has been excluded from all the squads. His fitness has also emerged as a big concern for team India.

Rohit is currently missing from the playing XI of the Mumbai Indians (MI ) due to a hamstring injury, and it is not yet sure when he will be making a comeback. In the same manner, Pant also missed some of the IPL matches due to a hamstring injury. In the most recent match between Mumbai and Delhi, the defending champions registered a 9-wicket win over Delhi. In the same light, Mumbai has become the first team to qualify for playoffs 2020, while DC still has a lot of pondering to do.

After the match, Pant and Sharma were seen talking, and the official Twitter handle of Mumbai Indians came with a post that had the picture of these two players. It was captioned as, “Still waiting for that six-hitting competition between Pant and Ro!”

In reference to this post, former Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh took a dig at both the players and it left all in splits. He wrote, “Or a competition of fat percent on their cheeks @ritssajdeh” He didn’t stop here and added further – “It’s like ro is saying to pant tere gaal jyada Motey hain ya mere ?”

Yuvraj even tagged Rohit’s wife, Ritika expecting some support from her. His comment came at a time when both are having fitness issues. In fact, team India’s physio, Nick Webb, stated clearly, that Pant is having some fitness issues. Even former Indian opener,  Virender Sehwag was caught under criticism by Rohit’s fans when he called him “Vada Pav” on his show Viru Ki Baithak.

Pant and Sharma are currently in UAE. While MI is sitting comfortably on top after its qualification, the struggle is still on for Delhi. They will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next clash.
