Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has sent a special birthday message to budding all-rounder Abhishek Sharma on the latter’s recent 24th birthday. Renowned mentor Yuvraj Singh took to social media to send a video message to birthday boy Sharma. In the video, Yuvraj is seen giving him some technical advice, especially regarding Sharma’s bat swing.
Yuvraj Singh has funnily told the young cricketer to stress more on singles rather than just playing big sixes. “Happy birthday sir Abhishek. Hope you take as many singles this year as you knock out of the park. Keep putting in the hard work! Loads of love and wishes for a great year ahead, ” he wrote on X.

The breakout moment finally came for Sharma in IPL 2024, where he starred for Sunrisers Hyderabad, gathering 484 runs at a stunning strike rate of 204.21, with his 42 sixes being the most in the tournament. That stellar performance earned him his maiden call-up to the national team for India’s tour of Zimbabwe in July as he marked his debut with a century in the second T20I.
Yuvraj has always been keen on highlighting a need for both technical proficiency and mental toughness, which impregnates youngsters like Sharma with a belief that they are good enough to be able to perform at the highest level. With the domestic season drawing closer, Sharma is keen to make sure the momentum is carried forward, hoping for more chances to play for India.
