“When MS Dhoni is there, my words automatically stop. Regardless of my mood, I tend to stay silent. I only speak if Mahi bhai asks me something. Otherwise, I prefer to remain quiet,” Yuzvendra Chahal shared.

Chahal has an impressive record, having played 72 ODIs and 75 T20Is, taking 121 and 91 wickets, respectively. He also holds the distinction of being the leading wicket-taker in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), with 187 wickets in 147 matches.

“We were playing a T20 match against South Africa in Centurion. It was the first time I was hit for 64 runs in four overs. Klaasen was hitting me all over the park, so Dhoni asked me if I wanted to bowl around the wicket. I agreed, but then Klaasen hit me for a six,” Yuzcendra Chahal recalled.

As Chahal was walking back, MS Dhoni approached him and said, “Aaj tere din nahi hai, koi baat nahi” (Today is not your day, it’s okay). However, he advised Chahal to focus on not conceding boundaries in the remaining five balls to benefit the team.
