Delhi won the toss and chose to bat first. In spite of a half-century by Shikhar Dhawan and quick-fire innings from Prithvi Shaw (24 from 16 balls) and Rishabh Pant (25 from 13 balls), Delhi managed to put up a total of 147-6 after 20 overs due to a middle order collapse.
While chasing 148, Shane Watson scored a blistering 26-ball 44, including four fours and three sixes and gave a solid foundation to the team. He was dismissed in the 7th over after giving a flying start as the team was on 73-2 at that time. Along with him, Raina too played well. Later, MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav who helped CSK to win the game where Dhoni scored stable 32.
“The wicket turned more than expected in the first innings. In the second innings, there was enough dew to make it slightly better for the batsmen. The bowlers did a very good job to restrict them to 150,” captain MS Dhoni said after the convincing win.
