IPL 2013: Pune Warriors India (PWI) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 17, 2013

Amit Mishra after the hat-trick

In the low scoring encounter, Amit Mishra’s brilliant all-round performances saved that match for the visitors SRH. Pune decided to field first after winning the toss. The visiting team suffered a big batting collapse as they were once 44/6. Biplab Samantray and Amit Mishra put an important 31-runs partnership for the seventh wicket. While Biplab scored 37 runs, the highest runs in that innings, Amit was in the second position with 30 runs knock. In the end, Ashish Reddy also added valuable 19 runs as the SRH managed to put 119/8 at the end of 20 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/18) took the most wickets among the hosts’ bowlers.

In reply, the leg-spinner Amit Mishra (4/19) and pacer Thisara Perera (3/20) destroyed the hosts batting line-up. Though the top and top middle-order batsmen crossed the 10-run mark, they failed to convert into the big knocks. Hyderabad bundled out the hosts for just 108 runs in 19 overs as they won the match by 11 runs. In the Pune innings, Robin Uthappa was the highest scorer with 22 runs knock while the captain Angelo Matthews (20 runs) was the only other batsman to reach the 20-run mark.

The main talking point of the match was Amit Mishra’s hat-trick. In the 19th over of the hosts’ innings, Amit Mishra took three consecutive wickets in last three balls as he dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rahul Sharma and Ashok Dinda in that period.
