Even after his retirement, the veteran has still got sharp reflexes as he completed a sensational diving catch while playing for India Legends in the Road Safety World Series 2022 semifinal in Raipur on Wednesday.

Having announced his retirement from all formats earlier this year, Suresh Raina is now playing for the Sachin Tendulkar-led India Legends in the RSWS 2022, and the 35-year-old turned back the clock with an epic effort that left the fans stunned. This is the first time Raina is participating in the Road Safety series.

During India Legends’ semifinal clash against Australia Legends, Suresh Raina took a diving catch to dismiss Ben Dunk. The incident took place in the 16th over as he produced a spectacular effort, after which Raina’s former IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also reacted with a heartwarming caption.

On the last ball, Suresh Raina completed one of the best catches of the tournament and followed it up with a stunning celebration. Reacting to Suresh Raina’s mindblowing catch, CSK shared a clip of his effort and wrote, “The dive. The throw into the air. The celebration! Vintage Chinna Thala stuff!”

AUS-L did not lose a single wicket in the power play and they were looking threatening. But Sachin introduced leggie, Rahul Sharma into the attack, and the move paid off as he dismissed Shane Watson, who scored 30 runs off 21 balls. He was also caught by Raina. Abhimanyu Mithun and Yusuf Pathan too joined the party with 2 wickets each.

For Australia Legends, Ben Dunk had made 46 off 26 balls that included 5 fours and 2 sixes respectively. He was the top scorer for his side. Doolan made 35 off 31 balls that included 5 boundaries. Australia reached 136/5 in 17 overs before the rain stopped play. The match has been rescheduled for September 29 (Thursday) at the same venue.
