According to a report, Afridi has said that he will never join again in the IPL, even if they call him. However, currently, Pakistan players are not available for the IPL due to present political situations between the two countries.

Recently, Saj Sadiq, the editor of Pak Passion posted in his Twitter account where he claimed that Afridi said, “Even if they call me, I won’t go to the IPL. My PSL is the biggest and there will be a time that it leaves the IPL behind. I am enjoying the PSL, I don’t have any need for the IPL. I’m not interested in it and never was.”

Afridi had represented Deccan Chargers in the inaugural IPL season (IPL 2008). He has very good relations with most of the Indian cricketers including the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Earlier, Afridi had mentioned the IPL as the best organised foreign league. He said, “Although I played just once in the IPL but it is easily the biggest league you can play in and I enjoyed my experience. The IPL is clearly the best organised foreign league and it was a totally different experience playing in it.”

Recently, Afridi had tweeted on the current worrying situation on Kashmir and demanded to United Nations and other international bodies to interfere on this.

He tweeted, “Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self-determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?”

Indian cricketers are criticising him for that post. Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma etc. slammed him for that post.

However, Afridi is not worried about the negative responses. According to Sadiq, Afridi said on that, “I’m not worried about the response to my tweet from some. I believe I spoke the truth and I have the right to speak the truth.”
