Indian Test opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to continue his domestic cricket journey with Mumbai, officially withdrawing his earlier request to shift base to Goa. The 23-year-old, currently on national duty in England for the ongoing Test series, had initially sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to represent Goa in the upcoming domestic season. However, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) confirmed on June 30 that Jaiswal has had a change of heart.

“The Apex Council has approved the withdrawal of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) that had been earlier requested by Yashasvi Jaiswal to represent another state. He will continue to be available for Mumbai,” the MCA announced in an official statement.

Jaiswal, a left-handed top-order batter, has made a strong impact in first-class cricket. In 10 Ranji Trophy matches for Mumbai, he has scored 863 runs at an impressive average of 53.93, including four centuries. He also boasts solid numbers in List A cricket with 1,296 runs at an average of 58 and five hundreds. In T20s, he has amassed 648 runs across 26 innings for Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the MCA has granted NOCs to Arman Jaffer and Sidhant Adatrao, who will now represent Pondicherry. Former Madhya Pradesh cricketer Puneet Datey has also been roped in by the Pondicherry team.
In a significant step toward inclusivity, the MCA has announced the formation of a Differently-Abled Players Cricket Committee. This move aligns with their commitment to expanding opportunities for all athletes within the Mumbai cricketing ecosystem.
