Rashid Khan grabbed the headlines with both his bowling brilliance and his cheeky sense of humour after Gujarat Titans (GT) crushed Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 77 runs in their IPL 2026 clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday. The Afghan spinner played a crucial role in Gujarat’s dominant victory and later added a fun twist to the celebrations with a playful social media moment.

In a video shared by the Gujarat Titans after the match, Rashid was seen emptying his pockets in a light-hearted response to Ravindra Jadeja’s now-viral “player in pocket” celebration earlier in the game.

Ravindra Jadeja had pulled out the gesture after dismissing Jos Buttler during Gujarat’s innings. The Rajasthan Royals all-rounder tempted Buttler into a mistimed lofted shot, which Donovan Ferreira comfortably caught at long-off. As the England batter walked back, Jadeja slipped his hand into his pocket, continuing a celebration style that has become a talking point this season.

However, Rashid ensured Gujarat had the final laugh. The star leg-spinner delivered a match-winning spell, controlling the middle overs brilliantly as Rajasthan collapsed in a steep chase of 230. His variations, pace changes, and sharp accuracy once again proved why he remains one of the most dangerous T20 bowlers in the world.

After being named Player of the Match, Rashid opened up about regaining his rhythm after struggling physically over the past two seasons.

“I’m quite happy. The last couple of years were unusual for me. This season is more about enjoying my bowling again and consistently hitting the right areas,” Rashid Khan said after the game.

He also admitted that returning too soon after surgery had previously affected his performances.

“I made a mistake by coming back too early after surgery. This time, I gave myself proper rest and worked hard on my fitness,” he added. Rashid revealed that he sensed help from the Jaipur surface immediately and adjusted cleverly. “The moment I bowled the first ball, I knew there was assistance for the spinners. Mixing up the pace worked really well,” he concluded.
