When Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will collide in Chennai, the heat will hit a new high. These two heavyweights will face each other in the 23rd match of the Indian Premier League 2019 in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. Both teams have played five matches and won four out of them. They are sharing the first two spots in the Points Table with only net run-rate is keeping them apart. When Chennai and Kolkata played in against each other at the same venue last year, over 400 runs were scored and the same outcome is expected in the clash of titans.

CSK has been one of the most consistent teams in the IPL history and they are doing the same in 2019 as well. They lost just one game against Mumbai Indians in this season after winning three on a trot. They played against Kings XI Punjab in the last game and won the match by 22 runs. MS Dhoni and Faf du Plessis played good hands in that win before Harbhajan Singh turned the game with his spin.

They are likely to field with the same playing XI that played against KXIP on Saturday afternoon.

Probable XI: Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (C/WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Scott Kuggeleijn, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

KKR is enjoying a purple patch of Andre Russell, who was instrumental in all their wins this season. Against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday night, Russell remained out of action throughout the game as Dinesh Karthik didn’t ask him to bowl before their batsmen finish the game in a hurry. KKR beat Rajasthan by eight wickets with six overs remaining.

Kolkata is likely to stick with their winning combination. Harry Gurney’s introduction in the team proved vital as he took two wickets on his IPL debut before being named the man of the match.

Probable XI: Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik (C/WK), Shubhman Gill, Andre Russell, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Harry Gurney, Prasidh Krishna.
