Surrey’s Australian batsman Aaron Finch scored 30 runs in an over against Sussex in the NatWest T20 Blast at The Oval on Monday.
He scored an unbeaten 114 run off 64 balls. He also equaled the club’s record of seven sixes in a T20 innings previously scored by Mark Ramprakash.
Surrey winning the toss opted to bat with Jason Roy and Finch playing a fiery partnership of 134-run in 95 balls and both scoring half-centuries. Sussex didn’t give up but tried to make a comeback. But alas Finch proved lethal.
He cleared the boundary in four deliveries in the 18th overs sending each ball out of the park. Two of those came over mid-wicket and two over long-off. He ripped apart on David Wiese ended with four off the last delivery taking the total to 30 runs that over.
His century came to few deliveries after with his 114-run knock guiding Surrey to 193. Surrey won by 17 runs and are on the way for the road to semifinals.
What an innings to witness!
