In a thrilling moment at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday, May 2, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Aniket Verma produced a spectacular catch to dismiss Rahul Tewatia during the high-scoring IPL clash against Gujarat Titans. Tewatia arrived at the crease in the final over after Washington Sundar was removed by Jaydev Unadkat on the second delivery.

Wasting no time, Rahul Tewatia made an immediate impact by dispatching the very first ball he faced—a full toss on the pads—over fine leg for a six with a stylish lap shot. However, after a dot ball, the drama unfolded on the fifth delivery of the over. Unadkat, mixing his pace smartly, bowled a slower one well wide of off.

Rahul Tewatia tried to go big once again, slicing the ball high toward the offside. For a moment, it appeared the ball would land safely in a vacant spot behind deep backward point—but Aniket Verma had other plans. Charging in with speed and determination, Verma launched into a perfectly timed dive and caught the ball cleanly with both hands, completing a stunning piece of fielding that turned heads.

Unadkat capped off a fantastic over by dismissing Rashid Khan on the final ball, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 35 in his four overs. Gujarat Titans, meanwhile, piled on a massive 224/6 after Sunrisers skipper Pat Cummins chose to bowl first.
