After the completion of around one-month long four-match Test series between the hosts Australia and the visitors India, which India won for the first time ever in Australia and that too by the 2-1 margin, both teams are ready to face each other in the three-match ODI series in Australia.

The three matches of the series will be played on 12, 15 and 18 January at Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne respectively. Before the start of the ODI series, India is on the second position at ICC ODI Rankings table with 121 points while Australia is in the sixth position at ICC ODI Rankings table with 100 points.

Prior to the ODI series, we have now come with the ranking scenarios at the end of the series. Here are the ICC ODI Ranking scenarios at the end of the series with all possible series results (including no result matches).

Australia 0 – India 0: The ICC ODI team ranking will remain the same. India will stay in the second position with 121 rating points while the hosts Australia will remain in the sixth position with 100 rating points.

 

Australia 1 – India 0: The ICC ODI team rankings table will remain the same but the rating points will be changed slightly from both sides. The second-ranked Indian side will have 119 rating points and sixth-ranked Australia will have 101 rating points.

 

Australia 2 – India 0: The ICC ODI team rankings table will see a little change as Australia will come up. While India will stay in the second position with 118 rating points, the hosts Australia will rise in the fifth position with 103 rating points. Australia will force Pakistan to get down at the sixth position (102 rating points).

 

Australia 3 – India 0: Australia will move up in the ICC ODI team rankings table after surpassing Pakistan which will slip down to the sixth position (102 rating points). Though India will stay in the second position with 117 rating points, the hosts Australia will rise at the fifth position with 104 rating points.

 

Australia 2 – India 1: Australia will come up on the ICC ODI team rankings table. The second-ranked Indian side will have 119 rating points while Australia will come up in the fifth position with 102 rating points. In this case, Pakistan will slip down to the sixth position (102 rating points).

 

Australia 1 – India 1: Once again the ICC ODI team rankings will remain the same but the rating points will see the little changes. The second-ranked Indian side will have 120 rating points and sixth-ranked Australia will have 101/100 rating points.

Australia 1 – India 2: While the ICC ODI team ranking table will remain the same, it could see a tiny change in the rating points. The second-ranked Indian side will have 121/120 rating points and sixth-ranked Australia will have 100 rating points.

 

Australia 0 – India 3: The ICC ODI team rankings table will remain unmoved but it will make the huge impacts on the rating points. India will remain in the second position with 122 rating points and Australia will remain in the sixth position with 98 rating points.
