After his impressive Test debut in last October, many experts had the high hope on the experienced limited-overs opening batsman for the big home Test series. However, he hugely disappointed as he was dropped from the final Test of the series.

Understanding the fact that he faced a few tough injuries during the home series against India, Finch was totally match-fit but he managed to score only 97 runs in six innings as an opening batsman. Though he played some good knocks of 50 and 25 runs during the Perth Test, his other scores in this series were 0, 11, 8 and 3.

However, some experts have suggested bringing him back in the Test squad as a middle-order batsman as he is familiar with it in the present first-class cricket.
