The next season of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) is just a few months away and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already started off with its marketing programs.
BCCI has open the invitations for the expressions of interest (EOI) for the IPL partner rights on Friday. They will be accepting applications for the IPL Official Partner, Strategic Time Out Partner, and the Umpire Partner Rights.
The grant of the rights will be conditional upon the corresponding third party entering into a binding agreement with the Indian board. Any legally binding obligations shall not be assumed by or imposed on BCCI or its nominated representatives. The partnership rights will be available for a minimum three-year period according to the press release by the powerhouse of the Indian cricket.
The release stated, “The BCCI invites third parties to indicate their interest in acquiring any of the following rights: IPL Official Partner Rights, IPL Strategic Time Out Partner Rights and IPL Umpire Partner Rights. No more than one-third party will be granted rights in relation to each Product Category. The Board intends (but shall not be obliged) to appoint up to a maximum of six Official Partners, one Strategic Timeout Partner and one Umpire Partner.”
Interested third parties, including marketing agency, wishing to grab any of the Rights will be required to submit an EOI. The EoI should contain the full name and address of the relevant third party, specify which of the Right(s) the party wants to acquire and the Product Category which the third party is interested in being appointed as a partner for the cash-rich T20 league.
