Chennai Super Kings releases three players from the squad

The latest Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) winner and the joint most three-time IPL trophy winner, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has released their three players from the squad on Wednesday. These three players are English pacer Mark Wood and two uncapped domestic players – Kshitiz Sharma and Kanishk Seth.

The IPL 2018 was the maiden IPL season for this trio. All of them were bought from the 2018 IPL Auction. The 28-year-old English right-arm pacer Mark Wood was bought for INR 1.5 crores, while the 28-year-old present Arunachal Pradesh middle-order batsman Kshitiz Sharma and the 21-year-old Bengal left-arm pacer Kanishk Seth both were bought for INR 20 lakh.

CSK pacer Mark Wood made his IPL debut in the last season during the opening game of the tournament against Mumbai Indians (MI). However, it was the only game he played in that season where he had a bowling figure of 4-0-49-0 and then he wasn’t picked up in the playing XI for around one month before deciding to return to England.

Meanwhile, Kshitiz Sharma and Kanishk Seth both uncapped players didn’t get an opportunity in their maiden IPL season.

Before the new 2019 IPL Auction, which is expected to be held in next month, CSK releases these three players in the ongoing IPL trading window that has a deadline on November 15. With this release, CSK has added 1.9 crores in their purse to get the wider option in the upcoming IPL Auction.

In this trading window, most of the IPL franchises were involved in the trading and releasing players, except Rajasthan Royals who hasn’t involved in any of these practices.
