The debutant fast bowler, of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) Chetan Sakariya, had a phenomenal outing in his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In a game where all the frontline bowlers were conceding runs at an economy rate of over 10, Chetan Sakariya returned with figures of 3/31 from his four overs.
Apart from his accurate bowler, Sarakiya garnered a lot of praise for his spectacular fielding effort at the short fine-leg position to get rid of Nicholas Pooran that got the Twitterati buzzing. Here is the video of the catch:

Pooran came into bat in the 18th over of Punjab innings when they were standing comfortably at 194/3. The stage was ideal for the dynamic Caribbean batsman to go all guns blazing. However, a moment of brilliance from Chetan Sakariya ensured that Nicholas Pooran didn’t trouble the scorers.

The incident took place on the final ball of the 18th over when Pooran tried to pull a half-tracker bowled by Chris Morris. The southpaw connected the ball, but failed to get eth elevation right as Sakariya, who was stationed at short fine leg, moved quickly to his left and dived full length to grab a stunning catch. The Chetan Sakariya catch resulted in Pooran being dismissed for a golden duck, which eventually helped Rajasthan in curtailing the run flow.
Earlier in the game, After winning the toss, the new RR captain, Sanju Samson choose to bowl on a typical Wankhede pitch. Mayank Agarwal fell early for 14 runs giving Chetan Sakariya his first IPL wicket and an amazing send-off as well.

Then Chris Gayle and KL Rahul then joined hands and added 67 runs in the next 7 overs. Gayle was looking set for a big one and RR fielding was making sure he continues to hit big shots, giving him a life as well. Rahul, on the other end, was looking as elegant as ever, holding one end up, but he kept on scoring at a brisk pace.
