It seems after playing a match-winning innings against Sri Lanka to help India take a 2-0 lead in the series, MS Dhoni’s stocks have risen.

Team India was down to 131 for 7 while chasing a target of 231, but then Dhoni along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar came to the rescue and pulled off an improbable win.

MS Dhoni’s previous IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings was suspended after the IPL in 2015, as they got involved in a match fixing controversy. Gurunath Meiyappan, who was the co-owner of CSK was allegedly involved in influencing players, but in 2018 is all set to make a comeback to the tournament.

According to the reports of New Indian Express, CSK director George John said, “We will have the same support staff we had two years back. Fleming too will be on board as a coach and the talks are at the advanced stage.”

He further added, “We will try our best to get back as many players who played for CSK two years back. But as far as MS Dhoni is concerned he was synonymous with CSK and we will go all out to get him. He has such a big fan following here and all franchise needs a player like him to keep their brand and fans intact, so bringing back Dhoni is our top priority.”

When asked about whether CSK team is looking forward to engaging some local talent in the form of Washington Sundar and Sai Kishore, he replied, “The TNPL has been a wonderful breeding ground to spot talent. We have seen some amazing performances in the last two editions. We will certainly look players who fill our slots. We would love to have them. Both performed splendidly in TNPL. But it will not be easy to bid as every team will also be in the race.”
